MONEY FOR BUTTER-FAT.

The New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company,, Limited, will advance its suppliers Is 4d per pound butter-fat for cream supplied for butter-making and Is. 5d per pound butter-fat for milk supplied for cheese-making last month. The manager of the company, Mr. C. J. Parlane, yesterday described the season as a highly satisfactory one, and said that excellent meetings of suppliers' committees had been held throughout the company's territory. The prices on the English market had shown a falling oif lately,/but suppliers had every reason to bo satisfied with the season' 3 returns. To Awamutu Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited, made 58 tons of butter in March, compared with 42J, tons for the same month last year. The output for tho 10 months was 690 tons, compared with 433 tons last year, an increase of 59 per /'cent. The average butter grade for March was 92.61. The company is making a cash advance payment of Is per lb. butter-fat for finest quality cream supplied in March, and shareholders are credited with £in additional gd per lb. The total amount of tho payment for March is £7214, cornpared with £5244 in March last year, when tho rate of advance was Is 4cl. The total amount paid for the season to dale is £90,467, compared with £52,787 year. The payouts to be made, by the dairy factories operating in the Morrinsviile district show a large increase over those for the same period last season.. The figures are as follows, these for the corresponding month of last year being given in parentheses:— Morrinsvilie.—Pounds of butter-fat, 158.012 (115,460); payout, Is d), distribution, £11,344 16s 3d (£7925 7s 4d). Tatua (Tatuanui). ■—Pounds milk, 1.422,365 (1,216,880); pounds butter-fat, 61,359 (52.476); payout. Is 5d (Is sd); distribution, £4342 (£3716).
