CHANGE TO THURSDAY URGED [RY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.'J TE KUITI, Friday. A movement is on foot in Te Kuiti to revert to the Thursday half-holiday instead of Saturday, as at present. As tho town is a l>ig shopping centre and tho sawmill centres have their holiday on Saturday, that day is the most convenient for the residents of these centres to do their shopping. A petition containing 236 names was presented to the Borough Council this week asking that a poll he taken, with the object of having Thursday made tho holiday for the shops.
