SHOCKING ACCIDENT.

RUN OVER BY A TRUCK. BOTH FEET SEVERED. EFFORT TO JUMP CLEAR. [by telegraph.—press association.] WELLINGTON, Friday. During shunting operations in the Thorndon railway yards about 7.50 tonight William Oman, a married man with children, and residing in the railway settlement at Kaiwarra, had both bis feet severed at the ankles by the wheels of a waggon passing over them. Oman did not see the approaching waggon until it was almost upon him and ho fell in endeavouring to jump clear. He was taken to the hospital. The unfortunate man arrived in Wellington from New Plymouth three or four months ago.
