BEAUTIFUL HANDS.

TREAT THIS WAY, It will soon be difficult to keep one's hands as nice as they should be, for they so soon become chapped and red when the cold weather comes. To. keep them white and well groomed a good vanishing cream should bo rubl;ed well in night and morning. Care should bo taken to dry tho hands thoroughly with a soft towel each time they are washed. For hands which are badly chapped ono cannot beat the following oldfashioned ointment, which can be made at homo for a few pence: Ono ounce bitter almonds, a little tincture of benzoin, ten drops each of oil of caraway and oil of sweet almonds, and the yolk of an egg. Blanch the almonds, beat to a paste by working in gradually tho oil of sweet almond and tho egg. Then add benzoin and oil of caraway, and beat until tho ointment is the consistency of thick cream. It may bo put into a pot, and should bemused each night after the hands have been washed with warm soapy water. A pair of cotton gloves worn at night time makes tho cure more speedy.
