TROTTING.

SEASON'S FIXTURES. April 20—To Aroha Trotting Club. May 4— Cambridge Trotting Club. June 22, 24—Auckland Trotting Club. THE WAIKATO CLUB. EARLIER MEETING WANTED. [hy telegraph. —own correspondent.] HAMILTON. Friday Tho opinion that early in Decemoer was an unsuitable tim© in which'to hold a trotting meeting at Hamilton, was expressed at a meeting of the executive of the Waikato Trotting Club last evening. It was unanimously decided to hold the new season s opening meeting on Saturday, October 12. if that date is available. It was stated that the December date was too close to Christmas, and that it clashed with the harvesting season. Tho track also was very fast in December. TE AROHA TROTTING CLUB. Acceptances for all events to be decided at the To Aroha Trotting Club's meeting close next Monday at 5 p.m., nnd the same may be lodged either with tho secretary, Mr. G. A. Bush. To Aroha, or with Messrs. Blomfield and Co., High Street, Auckland. NOTES BY PICADOR. NEW STUD FARM. The South Island will shortly be able to boast another extensive stud for the breeding of trotting stock. It iB announced that Mr. Freeman Holmes recently effected the purchase of some 80 acres about four and a-hnlf miles from Invercargill, and the property is to be equipped in an up-to-date manner. Mr. Holmes contemplates leaving for America in June next with a view to purchasing two stallions. Mr. Holmes made a very happy purchase when he bought Logan Pointer, and should he secure another such prize the Dominion will be enriched to a marked degree. MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS. Three wins in quick succession have gone down to the credit of Great Delight, and his latest performance in winning the Wanganui Tntting Cup in 4.37 2-5 indicates that he is better than generally believed. Great Delight is a six-year-old gelding bj Kea Dillon from a Peralta mare, and has been steadily improving with his racing lately. As a three-year-old last season Haerenga Pai displayed some promise, but until running second in the Wanganui Trotting Cup and later winning the Morton Memorial Handicap on Thursday, she had shown no form this season. She seems to have paced two very solid races and now that she is on the improve she may do G. Phipps further service where the class i 3 not too strong. WANGANUI MEETING. THE FIELDS FOR TO-DAY.
