MOTOR RACE MEETING.
CONTESTS AT MANGERE. A motor race meeting will be held on the Mangere Speedway on Saturday, April 13. The programme is being arranged by the Muriwai Beach Racing Company, Ltd., tho body responsible for the beach meeting last month. The inaugural meeting last Saturday was controlled by the Auckland Automobile Club. Improvements are being made to tl.e track, and it is expected that speeds will show an increase. A programme of eight events will cater for touring, closed and stripped cars and for motor-cycles. Most of the drivers who put up good performances last week will compete, and a number of fast machines will make their first appearance on the speedway. These will include a Bentley, a Yauxhall and the Stutz which has been such a distinguished performer at Muriwai. To avoid traffic difficulties a new entrance is to be made near the main road.
