PORT OF NEW PLYMOUTH.
RECORD TALLY OF CARGO.
Shipping at tho port of New Plymouth has been particularly busy during the last few weeks, and yesterday four overseas vessels were moored at the wharves, an incident without precedent in tho history of the port. The aggregate tonnage was 28,251, but this does not constitute the record, whicu is 31,149 tons, established last year. Last week the Eailway Department handled no less than 13,000 tons of cargo inwards and outwards at the port. This exceeded the previous record by 4000 tons.
