BRIDGE EVENING. Miss M. Campbell was hostess at a j little bridge evening at the Lyceum Club I on Monday night, when she entertained • some of her friends to bridge. The even- : ing was held in the card room, which ; was decorated with beautiful flame-col- • oured dahlias. The prize-winners of the evening were Miss Wyatt, with highest score, and Miss Wright, with lowest, ; score. Miss Campbell wore a frock of cream lace, with touched of lemon. The guests included Miss Wyatt, who wore black lace over royal blue; Miss Bertlescn, cedar and rose crepe, de chine; Miss White, buttercup georgette; Miss G. Eggleston, floral rayon do chine; Miss Turner, old gold beaded crepe de chine; Miss Hodgson, floral ninon; Miss Tizard, delphinium blue taffeta; Mrs. L. Day, peacock blue chenille; Mrs. G. Primrose, cinnamon pleated crepe de chine; Miss F. Jolly, parchment lace and cyclamen sash; Miss Nicholls, orange georgette; Miss W. McXickle, airforce blue georgette, Miss Wright, black taffeta; Miss Lloyd, black taffeta; -Miss Bourke, apricot shot taffeta. Tennis Tournament. The Hamilton High School Old Girls' Association heid their annual Yankee tennis tournament on the school lawns on Saturday afternoon. Interesting games were enjoyed, the weather being ideal for tennis. The winner of the tournament was Miss U. Jackson, the runner-up , being Miss J. Masters. The Waikato Trotting Club held their ; annual summer meeting at C'laudelands on ; Saturday in very sultry weather. There j was a large attendance, the lawns and < grandstands being thronged with people.
