FATAL SNAKE BITE.
DEATH OF SHOWMAN. William Henry Melrose, aged 42, showman, employed at While City with Rocky Vane, the snake-charmer, died recently in tho hospital at Perth, Western Australia, from the effects of a snake bite. Melrose, who is a South Australian, went to the Buffalo Club, Perth, with a bag, which he told other members contained performing frogs. When several of those /interested had gathered around he opened tho bag, and, to the horror of his spectators, withdrew a carpet snake. He then put the snako back and took out a tiger snake, which bit him. Melrose hurried to hospital, where he died a day or two later.
