HAMILTON NEWS.
A presentation was made to Miss Mona Johnstone, in honour of her approaching marriage, by the committee of the Sonning Old Girls' Association at her home, Liverpool Street, on Monday afternoon. A very pleasant hour was spent in afternoon tea and talk.
Those present were Mrs. Lindsay Johnstone, Miss M. Johnstone, Miss R. Johnstone, Miss J. Bindon, Miss D. Clark, Miss F. Hall, Miss F, Jolly, Miss B. Vickery, Miss M. Clayton-Greene, Miss R. Vickery, Miss D, Yule, Miss N. Valder. / Personal. Mrs. J. Wright arul Miss Sadie Wright, of Hamilton, are staying in Invercargill. Miss Koa Tompkins, who has been staying with Mrs. \V. Taylor,' Ohau[io, has gone to Auckland. Mrs. W. A. Curteis, of Gisborne, has come to live in Hamilton. Mrs. Kibblewhite. of the Whitiora Croquet Club, Hamilton, has been extremely successiul in the recent croquet championship tournament held at Wan ganui. She won the ladies' open champion ship for New Zealaad. With Mrs. Wick ins, of Featherston, she won ihf> handicap doubles, was runner-up with Mr. Ross, of Cliristchurch, in the open doubles, and semi-finalist in the handicap singles. Mrs. Bartlett, another Hamilton player, was runner-up iu the handicap singles Miss D. Wright, of Sydney, is the guest of Mrs. 0. Farrer, of River Road. Miss E. Hume is visiting Auckland. Mrs. A. J Rons, of Thames Street. Claudelands, has returned from Waihi Beach.
Miss Muriel Chadwick. of Hamilton, has been appointed assistant mistress of the Ellerslie school.
Mrs. J. White has returned from a holiday at the Mount, Tauranga. Mrs. Graham Mills, of Ngahinepouri, has returned from a holiday at Raglan Mrs. V. H Bosworth, of Auckland, is the guest of Mrs. T. W. Thompson, of Manning Street, Hamilton. Miss Dorothy Cucksey, of Auckland, is visiting Mrs. G. L. Crowlv at Pukeatua. Mrs. A. English is spending a holiday at Mercury Bay. . Mrs. Pavze, of Hamilton, is visiting her daughter, "Mrs. Nelson Banks, of Matamata. Mrs. M. Manning has returned from Wellington. Mrs. Cobbe. wife of the Hon. J. G. Cobbe, Minister of Marine, is spending a few clays in Ham' Urn, whcr» *he is the guest of Mrs. R. Cobbe, of Hillcrest.
