The New Zealand Dairyman Company, Limited, Wellington, wrote donating £5 5s for competition, and a further 10s to bo awarded to the best plan of a model lay-out of factory grounds. A discussion on the advisability of retaining tho poultry section was opened by Mr. W. Runciman, who tendered uis resignation as organiser of this depaitment. He stated that no satisfactory arrangements were mode for the housing of tile birds, and iittlo interest was taken by tho association in these exhibits. , , ~ Mr. W. Roth well saul the poultry division had formerly occupied a prominent place in tho show, the number of exhibits bad increased from 30 until a tew years ago, when they were about lUyu. Since then they bad declined, lie suggested that a permanent building should be erected and suitable peus constructed. At present these were borrowed or hired. .. ~ , ~ The secretary, Mr. W. H. L aul, said the conditions under which tho oiganisers of the poultry section worked were not favourable to success' Owing to the fact that tho poultry show only lasted three days, while the other sections were open for six days it was doubtful whether permanent buildings wero advisable. PREPARATIONS AT TE PUKE.

GOOD DISPLAYS ANTICIPATED

[BY TELEGUAPU. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] IE PUKE, Wednesday Preparations aro well forward for the forthcoming Te Puke annual Agricultural and Pastoral Show which will be held next Wednesday It is confidently anticipated that entries in both fat stock and dairying classes will be in keeping with the* high standard of animals to be seen in many of the paddocks throughout tho district due to the enterprise shown by farmers to improve the quality of their herds. The recognised suitability of the district for pig breeding is likely to make this class a strong feature of the show. Sheep are now receiving more attention from local farmers. The railway facilities have given an impetus to lamb raising.
