ENGLISH SCHOOLBOYS' VISIT.

I'lio first meeting of (he year of the oojiiinitteo of Ihe Auckland Manufacturers' Association was liekl yesterday afternoon, the president, Mr. G. Finn, presiding. With reference to the visit of the English public schoolboys,' the secretary, Mi*. J. Fincllay, expressed disappointment that Ihe only factory he had succeeded in having included in their itinerary was a dairy factory at Hamilton. There had .been a preponderance of representatives of .educational interests on tlio committee, and they had been opposed to,taking the boys to visit, factories.

In view of the fact that a large proportion of the boys' expenses was being paid by industrial interests members expressed the opinion that it was most important that the boys should be shown something of the industries of tlio Dominion. It was decided to endeavour to arrange to have'tho boys shown at least one of the leading Auckland factories.

Mr. W. D. Munn was granted four months' leavo of absence. Remits to be submitted to the annual conference of the Now Zealand Manufacturers' Federation in Wellington on February 27 were discussed in committee.
