MondayAs a result of a car skidding andiS crashing into a bank at Tataraimafca yesterday, Mr. Thomas, of Wellington, was admitted to the hospital suffering from severe head injuries, while Mrs. Phillips, of Awatuna, and Mrs. Stringer, of Wa. - nganui, were taken to a private hospital® suffering from bruises aud a shaking. Mr. Phillips, the driver of the car, had to have a cut over his eye stitched.

An accident occurred in Hamilton yes. terday afternoon, when a motor-cycle with a side-car attached, ridden by Mr. Cyril Pickett, of Hamilton, who was accom. panied by his wife and two infant children, capsized. The rider and occupants of the side-chair were thrown on to the road. The youngest child, Rex, aged 18 months, received a severe injury to tha eyelid. Mr. and Mrs. Pickett and tha child Ngaire, aged three years, suffered from shock and slight abrasions.

NOVICE DRIVER'S MISHAP. CAR GOES OVER STEEP BANK. [PY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] KA2TAIA, Monday, When Mr. Ray Wells, of' Te Karac, wa» driving a car near Broadwood bo en. deavoured to avoid a big stone on the road. The car went over a steep bank and capsized. Mr. Wells was taking his first driving lesson from the seller of the car, Mr. John Archibald, of Kaitaia, Mr. Wells was badly cut about the face and his right arm was dislocated. The car, which was purchased last week, wai damaged.

Cuts about the head were sustained fcjr three persons as tho result of a collision between ai service car and a private <St at Tuakau early on Saturday evening.' The cars were proceeding in opposite directions, and came into collision at the school corner. The injured were: Mr. Gr. Sibley, of Waipipi, his mother, and Mr, D. Bruce, of Waerenga. All were occupants of the private car, which Mr. Sibley was driving. After attention by Dr. Abernethy, of Tuakau, they were able to proceed to Waipipi. Two other occupants of tha private car and the passengers in the service car escaped injury. ■ The private car was damaged and had to be left on the roadside until to-day for repairs. The service car . was able to proceed on its journey, though somewhat damaged. - - -

CAPSIZE OF A BUS.

A light bus, driven by Mr. W. Mai*,, colm, of Tirau, left the road at Tirau on Saturday evening and capsized. Mr. Malcolm's two children, Jean, aged six years, and Isabel, aged eight years, each sustained a broken leg and injuries to the face. They vrere admitted to-the Waikato Hospital.

The bus was travelling down hill 'when the lights were extinglished and the driver missed the road. He was thrown clear but his wife and four children were pitched heavily into a ditch, Jean and Isabel weia pinned against a benzine drum. Tha others were riot seriously hurt. CAR WITHOUT DRIVER. Mr. Coleman, the health inspector for Whangarei, left his car standing at- tha top of Kamo Hill while lie went hack to pick up a. number-plate, but before he returned to the car the - brakes became released, and the car, with a lady in the front scat, ran down the steep hillside, gaining momentum all the time. Luckiljt after it had travelled several chains it worked off the road and with a loud crash finished up against an iron telegraph post. The passenger, although suffering from shock, was not injured, but tha car, jammed between the telegraph pos and a stone wall, was considerably damaged. COLLISIONS AT TE AROHA. Coilins, wit one passenger, crashed into a buggy driven by Mr. A. Hines, who was accompanied by Mi\ and Mrs. Cannont and a young Maori, Rawaki Pereriki, and theu swerved against the iron and concrete standards of Coulter's Bridge. Both vehicles were smashed almost beyond repa.r. Tho occupants of the buggy experienced a remarkable escape from injury, being picked up unhurt beyond tha shock of the fall.

While turning in the direction of T* Aroha on Saturday evening a car driven bv Mr. G. N. Burmester, of Te Aroii»i collided with a light two-seater car driven by Mr. A.
