CHURCH WORK IN INDIA.
MR. PALGRAVE DAVY ACCEPTS.
The Rev. E. Palgrave Davy, of Bayswater, lias accepted an invitation to become minister of the Union Church, Coonoor, in tiio Nilgiri Mountains of South India. Mr. IJavy was for. 13 years in India as minister of the Union Church in Simla. Since coming to New Zealand in 1913 he founded the children's mission, and has given numerous addresses iu the day schools of both islands, in the Sunday Schools, and on the beaches. The fact that so many children attend the services in Coonoor lias largely influenced Mr. Davy in accepting the invitation. , Coonoor is a beautiful and healthy hill station, 7000 ft, above sea level. It has three large boarding schools for Europeans, and the pupils regularly atternf tho Union Church. One of the schools, the Hebron High School, seems to have a distinct preference for New teachers.
