REMITS FOR CONFERENCE.

The following remits will be submitted bv the Tauranga Harbour Board to thf> conference of the Harbours' Association which will be opened at Auckland on Wednesday next

(1) That all Government departments should be required to pay a proportion of harbour dues on goods passing over the wharves of harbour boards, and especially in eases where the wharves have not been subsidised t-o any material extent from Government funds, (2) that Government representation on harbour boards should bear some relation to the proportion of financial or other assistance which the Government is prepared to render in return for such representation; (3) that all gradual accretions to foreshores should automatically come under the control and ownership of the harbour authority 'n whom such foreshoies are vested, and that the position regarding foreshores in this connection should be more clearly defined in the Act.

The board will be represented at the conference by the chairman. Mr. D..Grant, and Mr. J. G. Green.
