MENACE OF RAGWORT.
POSITION AT KEREONE. CONCERN OF SETTLERS. [BY TTLEOr.AI'H. —OWN COItnESPONPEVT.] MORRINRYTLLF.. Wednesday. The settlers of Kereone are concerned at the spread of ragwort in that locality. They sav the weed spreads from an unoccupied area. In discussing the need for immediate action by the Agricultural Department one settler said: —"I walked of! a faim behind To Kuiti because ragwort killed two-thirds of my cattle and impaired the health of two members of my family. You can imagine my feelings on coming to new pastures to make a fresh start, when 1 find ragwort spreading on all sides. In my opinion this is a case where an ounce of vigorous action would be worth a ton of reports."
