DISASTER IN BENGAL.
RIVER VESSEL CAPSIZES
United Service. DEIjHI. Jan. 22. Two hundred liveS were lost when a vessel carrying 700 pilgrims capsized at tho mouth of tho Hooghly River, at Saugor, Bengal, while a religious fair was in progress.
The craft was crossing the mouth of tho river in a rough sea. The pilgrims become panic-stricken and rushed from one side of the deck to tho other. This led to tho vessel capsizing.
