TRIBES MARCH ON THE CAPITAL.
Australian and N.Z. Press Association. DELHI. Jan. 22.
Tho ex-King Amanulla, of Afghanistan, has recognised the Government of Afghanistan and fighting has ceased everywhere except at Jagdalak, between Kabul and Jalalabad. Thero looting is proceeding.
Amanulla has enlisted strong support at Kandahar and the Shinwaris and other tribesmen aro marching toward Kabul. Other tribes, like the Mangals, Durranis and Ghilzais, may follow their example, but the fate of tho kingdom lies in the hands of tho Ghilzais. These comprise tho most numerous and strongest tribe. If the Ghilzais decide to support Amanulla the rebel leader Bachai Sakea, who has usurped tho Throne, will soon be deposed. The report that Bachai had been murdered is officially denied.
