TO-DAY'S WEATHER. HERALD'S SPECIAL FORECAST. The following weather forecast for 24 hours from 7 a.m. to-day was supplied to us by Mr. H. M. Vincent last evening:— Fair to fine, and very warm, humid weather is indicated, with increasing cloudiness, and rain following shortly over most of tlie Dominion. Variable and moderate breezes, northerly to northeasterly winds, strong to gale, prevailing shortly. Rough seas on the east coast from East Cape to Cape Maria, and also in Cook Strait; mainly moderate elsewhere. Disturbed conditions still rule over tlie greater part of t lie southern Tasman Sea, and pressure is again very low in the south-east portion of Australia. Unsettled conditions continue over the South Island and parts of the Wellington Province. Barometric pressure has built up over the northern portion of the North Island, and disturbances have passed both north and southward of tlis Dominion.

The Government meteorologist reported last evening as follows:—A moderate anticyclone is centred north-east of East Cape, and there is a deep depression south of Tasmania. Indications are for moderate to strong northerly winds, rising to gale force in places. Seas in New Zealand waters smooth to moderate generally, but rising later in all New Zealand waters. Freshening northerly winds and rising seas in the eastern Tasman Sea. Weather fair to tine generally at first, and warm to hot, but unsettled conditions setting in shortly from tho westward, with much cloud and mist. General rain developing during the next 24 to 36 hours.
