MARCH BY UNEMPLOYED.
DEMONSTRATION PROPOSED SCOTCH AND WELSH MINERS. ORGANISED BY COMMUNISTS. (Received January 12. 12.25 a.m.) United Service. LONDON, Jan. 11. Two armies of the unemployed are preparing to march to London. Both are organised by the Communists. They will bo faced with strong opposition by the Trades Union Council. The first army will start from the Scottish coalfields next week, while the South Wales contingent of miners will set out a week later/ The marchers will not be confined to miners. Other unemployed persons have been invited to join en route. The demonstration is aimed not only against tho Government, but against the Trades Union Council and tho Parliamentary Labour Party, with which the Communists aro at bitter loggerheads. The Trades Union Council is condemning what it describes as "the exploitation of the unemployed for the benefit of the Communists for political ends." It recalls that when the South Wales miners marched to London a year ago there was much useless suffering and misery inflicted. It predicts that the experience will be repeated, without assisting the unemployed in the slightest.
