CONTROL OF TROTTING.
APPEALS TO ASSOCIATION. CASE OF FREEMAN HOLMES. [BY TELEGRAPH. —MESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, Friday. A special meeting of the New Zealand Trotting Association was held to consider an appeal by W. J. Moir against tho action of the "VVestland Trotting Club is dismissing the protest for alleged interference lodged by A„ Hendriksen, driver of Moir's horse. Neeoro, which ran second at Hokitika to Young Author. The association decided the question being one of fact, no appeal could lie but in exercise of the powers conferred upon it under Rule 321, referred the matter back for further consideration by the club. It was decided that Moir's appeal fee ho refunded. Freeman Holmes, aftei ho had beou charged with attempting to induce N. C. Price 'o commit a breach of Rule '2BO. i:ncl in doing so was guilty of a breach of Rule 341, Section 8. was fined £'2o by the New Brighton Tfotling Club He appealed against the latter decision, and the association decided that he be informed that there was no appeal, as his notice was not lodged in accordance with Rules 318 and 319. H was also decided that the fee lodged by him with the notice bo refunded.
