PRESENTATIONS.

A tin veiling rug was presented to Mr. W. Peebles, who has retired from the position of manager of the Old Men s llome> Hamilton, prior to his departure from Hamilton for Otago. Mr. Peebles has been granted six months' leave on full pay by tho Waikato Hospital Board. Dr. G. W. Gower, medical superintendent of the hospital, and Mr. E. G. Johnson, secretary, paid a tribute to the faithful service Mr. Peebles had rendered the board as manager of the home for lo years. At the breaking-up ceremony or tna Forest Lake School, Hamilton, a farewell was tendered to Mr. R. J. Corbett, headmaster, who has been transferred to Northern Wairoa. On behalf of tna school committee and the pupils, the chairman presented Mr. Corbett witii a gold-mounted fountain pen. a travelling case and a rug. Mrs. Corbett was presented with a tea set. Great regret was expiessed that the district should be ' c,s .' ing Mr. and Mrs. Corbett. and 1" praise was accorded them for the services they had rendered, hoth as regains the progress of the, school and the sccia functions connected with :t.
