OBITUARY.
MR. HARTLEY MANNERS. Australian and N.Z. Preen Association. NEW YORK, Dec. 20 The death occurred io-day of Mr. John Hartley Manner?, tho playwright and actor, aged 58. Mr, John Hartley Manners was born in London in 1870. He was an actor for some years, his first appearance being in Melbourne in 1898. He returned to Eng. land niul played with Sir George Alexander, Sir John Forbes-Robertson and Mrs. Langtry. He wrote a large number of plays, including " As Once in May," " A Marriage of Reason," " The Prince of Bohemia," "Peg o' My Heart," "The Money Moon." He also wrote tho last act and most of the dialogue of " Sweet Nell of Old Dniry " (1900). He.married Miss Laurette Taylor, nn actress, who played Peg in her play. " Peg o'.my Heart" on its production in New York in 1912 when it ran for 600 performances, and also in London at tbo Comedy in 1014<
