HOLIDAY BEAUTY.
Complexions seem to show more in summer than at any other time. Why is it that, despite the widespread use of make-up nowadays in summer time a woman's thoughts turn to natural beauty ? Cosmetics are very well for winter evenings, with their soft-shaded lights, but on a clear, blue-sky day in the dancing sunlight of the seashore, rouge and lipstick and eyebrow pencils should be sparingly used.
Because the majority of women realise this, they immediately omit the usual protective layers of cream and powder, and under, the impression .that sun and wind will improve their natural beauty, they face scorching sunlight and sea breezes and wail when they find that these play havoc with the complexion. Fresh Air Treatment..,
Now, being out in the open air all day will improve your skin, but the improvement begins from within—by purifying and enriching the blood; and if you ruin your surfaco skin by constant exposure then your blood is not going to have a chance to paint lilies and rosea in your face.
You must protect your skin. A shady hat that protects your face and the nape of your neck is absolutely an essential if you value your looks.
Ochre face powders, or ochre mixed with rose, are the ideal shades for summe;time, but bo caroful that you do not use any greasy powder foundation with ochre powders; the results, after being exposed to the sun, can be ludicrous. Any rouge or lipstick usod should be of the brunette shades that go well with sun-burn powder.
