AN OLD LADY'S VETO. • Southampton's plan for a crematorium is still held up by the deep religious objections Of nn old lady, Airs. Taylor, who lives near the proposed site. ; It is the law that a certain crematorium cannot bp built if anybody within an area bf •' 200' yards withh6lds written consent, Mrs. Taylor lived Just within that area, and appeals have qtiite failed •to shake her opposition. " There is not the least possibility that I shall change my mind so long as I have my senses," she says. ; •• ' • '' In Spite of "her 85' years this 'determined old lady' goes but cycling whenever the weather permits, and generally carries in her bag some comfort for the'sick or the poor.
