The Porisonby branch of the Women's Christian Temperance Union entertained the Auckland " Y's" in St. Stephen's Hall, Jervois Roar], on Thursday evening. The_ newly-elected president, Miss Head, presided. Tho meeting opened with the singing of tho National Anthem, after which a vote of sympathy was passed to the late president. Mrs. Lee Cowic, in tho loss of her husband, all members standing in silence. A programme of musical items and recitations followed. Those contributing to it being: Mrs. and Miss Patterson, Miss C. M. Mac Lav, Miss Kent Johnston. Miss Rend. Miss F.vans. Miss C. M. Mac Lay, also gave a short address. Competitions and supper ended the evening.
