HOWICK TOWN BOARD.

The Howick Town Board met on Thursday ovening, the chairman, Mr. J. Crawford, presiding. Tho resignation of tho ranger. Mr. C. F. Conrtelly, was received, and it was agreed to request Mr. Connelly to reconsider his decision. A communication was received from the ongineer-in-chief of tho Public Works Department seeking the opinion of the board relative to the abolislMng or otherwise of tho No. 1 Motor Omnibus District under tho Transport Board Act. Tho decision of the members was in favour of its abolition. The summer time-table of tho bns service was placed before the meeting by the chairman, and received tho approval of the board, additional trips being added as from January 3. A service to Cocklo Bay direct to and from tho city has also been introduced.

In its capacity as Domain Board tho board agreed to resume three acres of the domain grounds by special agreoment with the lessee, Mr, T, Tasker, and have tho portion fenced and _ retained for cricket or other sports. _
