FIRING FROM NORTH HEAD.
COAST BATTERY IN CAMP.
Firing practice will be carried out from North Head from to-day until Friday by tJie 13th Coast Battery, which is in camp at North llcad for the annual six-days' training course. The battery, which is composed of Auckland territorials, is under the command of Captain J. M. Craig, while Major R. Miles will be in charge of the he ivy-gun fil ing to bo held on Fridav.
To-day, to-morrow and Thursday will be devoted lo short-range shooting with tho smaller guns, and to routino train ing, and on Friday a heavy-gun practice will be held. On the results of this prac tice lest the judging of tho Hudson Cup competition, an annual contest between the two coast batteries at Auckland and Wellington. A parade will also bo held at the Devonport Domain on Thursday morning in connection with the cup com petition.
