CARNIVAL AT PUKEKOHE.
A very successful queen carnival and bazaar in aid of the new church building fund, missions assessment, and general fund of the Pukekohe Anglican parish, was concluded in tho Masonic Hall, Pukekohe, on Friday evening. Thero was an attendance of over 400 'lhe crowning of the successful queen, who proved to be little Miss Marjone Treanor, representing Pukekohe Ilill, was a picturesque pageant. Tho stage was set as a spangled fairy cave w itll a fairy queen as guardian, and giant, stork, and other vassals at. tho call of her fairy wand. Into this setting was ushered the queen-elect of the carnival ane'l her suite, which included her associate queens, little Miss Audrev Morrison, as tho central queen, and little Miss Jean Waterhouse, representing tho northern queen, Miss Esmo Munro, who was prevented by illness from attending. Introduced by lhe herald to tho fairy queen t'no carnival queen was installed on a rock dais and crowned with appropriate, ceremony. '1 ho carnival was conducted l>v Mrs. Lawsen and the Girls' Guild of the church, and the bazaar by the, Ladfcs' Guild. The total takings amo'Jinled to about £350.
