ARMY OF GERMANS.
ITS STRENGTH ANALYSED. COST MORE THAN OLD FORCE. Times Cable. PARIS, Nov. 03. A correspondent of Lo Journal asserts that tho German official army of 100.000 men is stronger than is supposed. The number of privates is 38,000, corporals 38,000, sergeants 20,297, staff officers 619, including 39 generals and 106 brevetcoloncls. There are 596 "phantom" companies apart from the regular companies in the Pieichswehr.
Tl 10 annual cost of the army is £55,000,000, says the correspondent, ■whereas the old Imperial army of 900,000 men cost £50,000,000 a year.
