The :innunl conference of the Presbyterian Women's Missionary Union opened *>i» Thursday morning. The president of flic union gave an address on tlio work of the year and Iho local president welcomed 1110 visiting delegates to Auckland. Mldresses by workers in I lie Home Mission fipld wore listened to with great inli'iest. Miss rotler told of Iter work in the far north of tin island, this being principally among tin? children. The v.oii- was liillii nil for many reasons which slii) mentioned. Another speaker was Mrs. Dill, from Teloki. She told of n typi' al Sunday's u il l:, which covered nearly 20 miles of tough travelling. Other speakers were two veteran workers ,in the- Alitor) f'K'ld-~Mi>;., C.iirw tind Sisfeii Aiiii;c, Their work was in IJiulaliiiiik, .itwau .in •( ha - Urewerit. ■ Sister .Annie spoke of I lie Christmas parly given to Mivoris in t.lieir district, the guests numlmriiig from f'O to 1 r >o. 01 lx*r ■workers also spoke, telling of I heir experiences and difficulties among the .Maoris. An enjoyable solo was sung hv Miss llissett.
