POLICE COURT NEWS.
HOUSE-BREAKING CHARGES. YOUTH REMANDED FOR WEEK. Two charges of house breaking were preferred against Roy Taylor, clerk, aged 17, who was remanded in the Police Court yesterday to appear next Friday. In the meantime accused will bo kept apart from other prisoners while in custody.
The police alleged Taylor had entered the homes of Rubv D. Neithe and Veronica Mynott, stealing £1 2s and £1 10s on each occasion. " Other charges are pending," said Chief-Detectivo Hammond, in asking for the week's remand. Charged with assaulting a, man, Peter McClaicn, labourer, aged 49, was remanded to appear on Monday. Bail was allowed. According to Sub-Inspector McCarthy McClaren assaulted Albert H. Pedman, who had to bo medically attended in hospital. For trespassiug on racocourses, Edgar Doherty was fined £l, and R. C. Harding was ordered to pay costs.
