ASSAULT CHARGE FAILS.
COMMENT BY MAGISTRATE. [BV TELEGRAPH." —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] CimiSTCnURCn, Friday. In the Magistrate's Court, this morning, Mr. E. P. Moslev, S.M., heard a charge against Archie Lynn of aggravated assault on Margaret McPermott, and dismissed it after hearing unusual evidence. Tho woman went in the witness-box and said that injuries sho received were caused by falling downstairs. The magistrate said the law was not here to protect such women as McDermott, who would not tell a straight, clean story.
