NORTH AUSTRALIA.
"THE HEALTHIEST AREA." "It is nonsense to say that Northern Australia is not a white man's country," said Dr. C. E. Cook, chief medical officer of tho Northern Territory, who was rocontly on a visit to Canberra. "It is one of the healthiest areas iu Australia," Dr Cook added. "Diseases which thrive in colder climates do not liavo tho samo incidence in the north. The territory is also healthy as far as tropical diseases aro concerned, as the population was too small to disseminata them to any great extent. Tho climate of Darwin is more cc|ual>lo than thut at either Cairns or Townsvillo, although tho thermometer might l'iso higher."
