MONEY FOR BUTTER-FAT.

RECORD OUTPUT AT PIOPIO. ADVANCES FOR OCTOBER. [RY TF.I.KO It A PIT. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TE KUITI, Thursday. The Piopio Co-operative Dairy Company reports a seasonal increase up to October 31 of 12J t<9tis of butter, the output of 98 tons for tho period being a record for the company. Tho cash advance for October was at tho rate of Is 5d per lb. for finest grade. Tho cartage of cream, was paid by the company, averiiged j}d per lb. From July, 1927, to October, 1927, 1,594,4051b. of butter-fat « r ero received, against Which was advanced the sum of £11,902, arid for tho corresponding months of 1928 1,813,4081b. of fat, and an advance of £13,440.

The pastures generally are good and tho, butter being put through tho grade stores is well up. to the standard of previous years. In tho opinion of the of the Piopio district the prospects have never looked better. Tho liberal use of fertilisers has transformed many of the pastures. Tho stock is healthy and there is a goneral feeling bf optimism for the coming season. NORTH TARANAKI DAIRYING. INCREASE IN DISTRIBUTIONS. Tho sum of £88.988 for butter-fat supplied in October lias been paid out to suppliers during the last few clays by 23 of tho North Taranaki dairy companies which havo their offices in New Plymouth. This is an increase of £5485 on the sum paid out on November 20 last season. The factories which sold their outputs of cheeso mado tho highest advances/ ranging from Is 7d to Is 9d, whilo cheese on consignment returned Is 6cl. Payments by the butter factories were Is 4d and Is 5d per lb. of butter-fat.
