GUESSING MATCH RESULTS. ENGLISH PAPER CONVICTED. Australian and N.Z. Press Association (Received November 02, 5.5 p.:n.) LONDON, Nov 21. Tn the Kind's Boncli Division the npp*al was dismissed of tho Sheffield Onily Telegraph against its conviction for minting and circulating a football forecast competition. Tt was said that a calculation had been submitted lo the magistrates to the effect that, assuming 24 matches had been correctly forecast out of 44 on a coupon, it would be necessary to submit about 282,000,000,000 guesses before one could be certain of sending a correct result. As an outcomo of the decision'the Lon don newspapers announce that they arc ceasing the competitions forthwith.
