PNEUMONIC INFLUENZA.
AUSTRALIAN EPIDEMICS. GRAVE CONCERN CAUSED. VIRULENT FORM OF DISEASE. THIRTEEN DEATHS REPORTED. (Received November 22, 9.15 p.Trt.) SYDNEY, Nov. 22. An epidemic of a virulent form of pneumonic influenza in the Leeton irrigation area, New South Wales, is causing grave concern. The Government has been asked to send medical and nursing assistance to the district In response to this appeal the Minister of Health, Mr It. Arthur, lias sent nurses to the locality, which is on the border of Xew South Wales and Victoria. Additional nurses have volunteered from Melbourne, whero .thero is also a bad epidemic of influenza. Four deaths have occurred among the employees of ono shop. There have been nino deaths at Leeton, but none in the last few days.
