A collision between a motor-cycle, ridden by Mr. Herbert Fletcher,, of Dryden Street, and a car driven by Mr. Leonard Hill, of Manukau Road, occurred at tho corner of Queen Street and Wyndhnm Street at 6.15 last evening. Tho car, which had been proceeding up Queen Street, was turning into "VVyndham Street, and tho cycle was going down Queen Street. Tho front forks of tho-cycle wero twisted and tho wheel was buckled, whilo ono mudguard of tho car was slightly damaged No ono was injured.

Advice received by the Danish ViceConsul, Mr. S. I\ Anderson, states the Danish scientific expedition steamer Dana is scheduled to reach Auckland from Noumea on December 14. Tho vessel s itincray afterwards has not been announced.

Another large cargo is being brought by the steamer Lornastori from Nauru Island. Sho has 8200 tons and will unload all tho cargo at Auckland.

An 'application by a ratepayer, tho father of 12 children, for temporary work, tho wages to bo used in liquidation of rates, was made fo tho Olahuhu Borough Council last evening. The man stated he was at present out of employment. The council decided to consider the matter.

Arriving home after an absence of about an hour, Mrs Wilfred Shaw, of 80, Victoria Avenue, Remuera, surprised an in truder ransacking the houso on a recent overling. It was evident that the thief, who had gained admission through a door leading off a verandah, had just commenced operations, the only thing taken being an electric.torch, with which ho was working. Over 30 undefended actions for divorce and restitution of conjugal rights were dealt with in tho Supreme CouVt yesterday, each case occupying an average of about five minutes. Objection to tho. erection of advertising hoardings by the Railway Department on the overhead bridge at Ellerslie was taken by the Town Board at its last meeting. Mr. Roberts is now interested in a woollen manufacture business in Scotland. Scottish woollen manufactures frequently contained a larger percentage of New Zealand than of Scottish- fleece, Mr. Roberts said, the Scottish manufacturer being convinced that New Zealand wool could not bo elsewhere equalled for general purpose's.
