SERIOUS ALLEGATIONS.
YOUNG LABOURER CHARGED. A charge of committing rape at Ramaram a on November 12 was preferred against Frederick Thomas Kelly May, aged 24, labourer, in the Police Court yesterday. On the application of ChiefDetective Hammond a remand was granted until Monday. May was charged at Whangaroi on Wednesday with committing rape at Okahu on November 19, and with stealing a diamond ling and cheque form of a total value of £4 10s, at Waiotira, and a bicycle valued at £5 at Okahu. He was remanded to appear at Dargavillo next Thursday. A charge ot indecently assaulting a, boy aged seven years was preferred against Georgo Walter Wills, aged 33, cabinetmaker (Mr, Moody), in the Polieo Court yesterday. Accused was committed to the Supreme Court for trial, bail being fixed ai £IOO.
