NEW RESERVOIR.
WORK ON MOUNT EDEN. COUNCIL ACCEPTS TENDER. The higff-level water supply reservoirs of tho city will shortly be added to by the construction of another on Mount Eden. Tho City Council, at its meeting last evening, accepted the tender of tho Fletcher Construction Company, at £15,569, for the building of a concrete reservoir with a capacity of about 3,500.000 gallons. Jt will be considerably larger than the old reservoir on Mount Eden.
Tho engineer's estimate for tho work was £19,017, and the eleven tenders received ranged from the value of that accepted up to £22.594. Eight of the tenders were substantially above the engi-
neer's estimate. Ihe work will take about nine months
