Fonck explained to Udet how he shot down the (iernian, Unmet, who had brought down 42 machines of the Allies, lie also recalled bringing down six German.} in one day. [Met explained bis tactics, saying. "I used to wait for dusk, ami then, flying at a height of between 15,000 and 18,000 feet, penetrate several miles behind the Allied lines. I would turn my tail to the setting sun to await, the return of your bombers and scouts."
