BOXING TOURNAMENT.

SECOND EVENING'S RESULTS

The second round of bouts of the Auckland Military Sports Association's boxing: tournament was decided at the Rutland Street Drill liall last evening in the preseuco of a record attendance, which included a largo number of women. Thirty-nine bouts were decided in weights ranging from fly-weight to light-heavy-weight. Of tho total number of fights, tour wero preliminary bouts in tho territorial division. The contests throughout were most spirited, the l.ids often battling with more force than dexterity, much to tho delight of the cadets in ihe spectators. G. L. Murdoch and L. Taylor, two ily-weights, gave ,i very bright showing. R. I'. Webb, 2Gth Coy., and A. I'urdy, 22nd Coy., gave, perhaps, the outstanding exhibition early in the evening, thero being no difference between them at the call of time. The extra round was exciting and close, with tho decision wavering either way, but I'urdy had Webb covering toward ihe end, and gained a close verdict. Both received a tremendous ovation. Mr. T.
