Bom in St. Paul, Minnesota, Mr. Dix received his education at Minnesota at the St. I'aul Central High School, where lie became interested in all sports and in dramatics. He tired, of this and Sintered an architect's oflice.'While working there he attended an evening dramatic School, which led him to a position with a local rnovie company. After a year in New York he was suddenly called homo by tho death of his father. Being the main support of his tnother and sister, and earning but small pay in the local stock companies.
