NO REPLY FROM MARS.

INVESTIGATOR'S MESSAGE. ANNOYANCE OF HIS WIFE. Australian aild N.Z. Press Association. LONDON. Oct. 24. Dr. Mansfield llobinson, who addressed a wireless message to the Martians this morning:, has received quite a lot of publicity, even though he received no reply from Mars. This publicity was provided by his angry wife's message to London newspapers.

" 1 do not know what my husband is doing," Mrs. Robinson said to interviewers. " Messages cannot bo sent to Mars. It is nonsense!" Mrs. Robinson, obviously annoyed, paused for breath, and added: " I do not know whether the message was sent, and 1 do not care. I do not know where my husband is. and T do not care. I do not know whether lie received a reply, and 1 do not care. There will be no more nonsense in this house." Thereupon she slammed the door. Dr. Robinson was more startled by this message than by anything ho could have received from Mars. " I dare not go home," lie said. "My wife disapproves of my experiments. 'lbis affair has upset her. but perhaps she will telephone me. It is all very upsetting."

The psychic investigator said the Mattians were also very much annoyed bocause the signals did not come, as they had been sitting up for hours to receive them. " They are laughing at our scientists because they have got rid of atmospherics and wo have not," ho remarked.

Officials of the Post Office say they sent Dr. Robinson's message and also sent an official report on what happened. This they will not divulge because it is official.

Professor A. M. Low said nervously: "1 hope it is perfectly clear that all I did was to observe the experiment. Nevertheless I disagree with those who think the experiment was foolish. It would have been foolish to have missed the opportunity of observing it."
