OBITUARY.
CAPTAIN HENRY JOYNT. The death of Captain Henry de Little Joynt, well-known on the northern coast, occurred at his home, 259, Balmoral Road, Edendale, on Tuesdr.y. Captain Joynt, who was 60 years of age, spent the greater part of his 40 years at sea on the northern coast, serving with various companies. He was with the Northern Company for a number of years, leaving in 1916. Following an accident received on the wharf about five years ago Captain Joynt retired in 1925. He leaves an adult family. The funeral took place yei.terday.
MR. WILLIAM L. ORE
The death of Mr. William Longmuir Orr, aged 88 years, s one of the best-known settlers of tho Pukekawa district, near Tu'akau, occurred yesterday. Mr. Orr was born in Dairy, Ayrshire, Scotland, and came tc New Zealand in the sailing ship Surat, landing at Auckland in 1862. Ho drove tho first dray through to Queen's Redoubt, Pokeno, with provisions for soldiers. After about 18 months ho moved to Canterbury, where ho farmed successfully for several years. There he married tho third daughter of Mr. T. H. Pannett. In 1883 he returned to Auckland and took up a large block of unimproved land near Morrinsville. After eight years ho removed to Pukekawa, where he resided for 37 years until his death. He is survived by his wife, seven sons and three daughters. There are 21 grandchildren and two great-grand-children.
MR. WILLIAM ALFIfED REEVE.
[BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] > WHAKATANE, Thursday. Tho death of Mr. William Alfred Reeve, of Opourieo, at tho age of 52 years, occurred on Tuesday. Mr. Reeve was born at Foxtcn, b\it spent most of his life farming in the Wairarapa district. Eight years ago ho came to Opouriao and took up> a farm, where he resided to the time of his death. Ho took a great interest in boxing, and was ono of tho founders of the Taneatua Boxing Association. Ho was also keenly interested in football. He leaves a widow, six sons, and ono daughter, Mrs. A.
