MACHINERY-CLEANED CANS.

\ new machine for washing and sterilising milk cans has been placed on the market bv a manufacturing firm in Southern Sweden. The cans arc placed on a rotating shelf, enclosed in a cylinducal shell, and whilo rotating are washed by powerful jots of hot water and soda solution, and subsequently dried by a fan applying hot air at temperaturo of 115 degrees centigrade. Tests made by a vetorinary bacteriological laboratory show that this method makes tho can perfectly sterile. Tho'machino washes milk cans of different sizes, the larger type of machine at (lie rate of 360 cans per hour. It is entirely automatic and labour-saving, and requires only one operator. Machines of this kind have been ordered by important dairy establishments in Sweden and Finlaud.
