LATE MR. A. FISHER.
MESSAGE FROM THE KING. ARRANGEMENTS FOR FUNERAL. Australian and N.Z. Press Association. LONDON, Oct. 2.1. Mrs. Andrew Fisher has received a message from the King's private secretary, Lord Stamfordham, saying His Majesty is grieved to hear of the death of her husband, whose distinguished service to the Empire in both peace and war His Majesty will always remember with gratitude. The letter conveys to Mrs. I'isher and her family the expressions of His Majesty's true sympathy in their great. loss. In acknowledging the message Mrs. Fisher said her husband's life was always devoted to his King and his country. Australia would prize the tribute paid to his memory by the King. The authorities at Australia House have arranged for an official funeral for Mr Fisher at Ifampstcad at noon on Friday. A memorial service will be held at St. Columba's Church, Pont Street, in the afternoon. The minister, Dr. Archibald Fleming, will officiate and will be assisted by the Rev. Chambers Lyon.
