MOTOR CAMPS.
Sir,—With the approach of the summer and its attendant joys of motoring, camping and beach life generally, I think a motoring camp should be formed at one of the many suitable beaches to be found so near to Auckland. Living in the country as we do, we are not in the fortunate position of so many of the city workers. who know to the exact date the commencement of their annual holidays. They are thus ablo ot make full arrangements for boarding or bach accommodation. Last season, having to take our holiday at a very short, notice during the children's Christmas vacation, we had the utmost difficulty in securing accommodation at a good and yet safe beach. If a camping ground near a beach could be secured for a motoring camp, it would supply a long-felt want. The place that has been mentioned as suitable is, I believe, Orowa, which has a fine opon beach, and yet within a reasonable distance of town. Trusting the A.A.A. or some responsible body may at some time further this proposal, and there would be at least one grateful Country Motorist.
