RECLAMATION AT COX'S CREEK.
Sir,—As a ratepayer, it is hard for me lo understand why the City Council is improving private property, by carting the deposits from water-table sumps, and the clippings from footpaths, instead of improving its own property'! Some time ago, the council spent thousands of the ratepayers' money in purchasing the old mill site at Cox's Creek, and a resolution was passed, that the property should be reclaimed whenever the council had the necessary spoil. A few loads were carted for a time, hut apparently the council has forgotten that such a property exists, and the/spoil is now being dumped on privately-owned sections. It is going to take a few generations to reclaim Cox's Creek at the present rate, and it is no great credit to the council to spend our money and allow conditions fo remain at a standstill. Ratepayer.
