CONSTABLES OBSTRUCTED

CHARGES FOLLOW INCIDENTS

Charges of using obscotio language and of inciting a man to resist arrest wore preferred against, Antonio Alphonso. n Spaniard, in the Police Court yesterday, while Robert. Robinson was charged with being drunk and with resisting arrest, Sub-Inspect or McCarthy said only iv charge of drunkenness would have been preferred against, Robinson had it not, been for the interference of Alphonso. A constable was arresting Robinson when Alphonso advised the other man to "give it a go" and used obscene language, directed principally against tho police. Robinson took Alphonso's advice and it was only filter some trouble that the constable managed to handcuff his man. The magistrate, Mr. I' 1 . K. Hunt, imposed a fine of £2 on Alphonso on (he charge of inciting to resist., fixing the default at two days' imprisonment. On the other charge Alphonso was convicted and discharged. Robinson was fined .□ for resisting an est and was convicted and discharged for drunkenness. The desire of Daniel Arthur Moore, to join Ralph William Donkin in a taxi provided by a constable resulted in his appearance on a charge of obstructing Ihe polio |)onkin was charged with being drunk and disorderly. Sub-In-spnctoi McCarthy said Constable Hcndrou arrested Donkin, who was making a disturbance in Broadway, and was placing iliru in ;i taxi when Moore en trie, up-and said hj, t.o wanted a ride, lie continued to make a nuisance of himself and finally the constable put, him in the taxi and drove him to the watch-house. Both men were fined €l. in default two days' im prisonmcnt.
